The "John Morris Fund"

CARING REALTORS

As you may know, one of our own, John Morris, was in the hospital for a week in March and is courageously battling cancer. Even with the assistance of various agencies that have been able to write off many of the bills, they are still in excess of $100,000.

John has no medical insurance, as many of us don’t. We want him to concentrate on channeling his energy into getting better. Our immediate goal is to raise $25,000.

How can we help?

We’re asking each of you to give $25 as a one-time gift, or whatever you can afford. With this donation we won’t be bothering you constantly about doing a fun run or donating to a white elephant sale or attending a dinner/dance/silent auction. Your $20 would really help John pay some of those bills. Monthly pledges are welcome. You will sign a framed poster that will be presented to John later this year as a reminder of how much we care.

Some of our ongoing fundraising projects include:

A weekly raffle in a different realty office, mortgage office, etc. for an IPOD, MP3, gas cards or small, donated items -$5 for a chance to win. If you have any items such as these that you can donate, or you can request any such items from your resources (a great marketing tool for them), please let us know.
Asking for donations at the next HAR Luncheon in April.
Asking local restaurants to donate a portion of their receipts for one day.
